Parable of the Good Shepherd

Mosaic depicting the parable of the Good Shepherd (2020)
Made in direct mixed media, it is intended for the outside steps of a Christian Catholic Church in Hong Kong.
Divided into 15 250 cm long bands of varying heights depending on the various risers of the steps (average 15 cm). The narration of the Gospel parable of the shepherd who loses his sheep and then finds it again begins at the bottom with the first step and ends at the last step at the top.
The work is composed of mosaic tesserae of various sizes and different materials. The tone of the work is largely given by the use of light-coloured marbles such as Statuario, Calacatta and Carrara.
The touches of colour are mainly constructed with enamels (glassy material) also in tile size or in larger cuts to create inlaid areas.
The total size of the work is 6 square metres.
